The first list of lobbying targets has been published

News

To support reporting on lobbying activities, the NAOF publishes a list of lobbying targets and updates the list on a quarterly basis. The first list has now been published.

A disclosure of activities is to be submitted to the Finnish Transparency Register every six months starting from next July. The disclosure of activities includes information, for example, on who the representatives of the organisation have contacted in connection with their lobbying activities.

The lobbying target is named in the disclosure of activities in the case of a Member of Parliament, a minister, a state secretary or a special adviser appointed for a minister's term of office, the Secretary-General or Deputy Secretary-General of Parliament, a permanent secretary, a permanent under-secretary or a director general of a ministry or a rapporteur appointed by a ministry.

In the case of other public officials in Parliament and the ministries, the organisation, department and unit or committee is disclosed. In the case of political assistants and the staff of the parliamentary groups, the parliamentary group they represent is disclosed.

To support the monitoring of lobbying activities, the NAOF provides a list of all the targets of lobbying and communication that must be disclosed to the Transparency Register. We update the list on a quarterly basis: in March, June, September and December.
